Contract law is part of the legal body that regulates exchange of goods and services, money, and properties.
This includes topics such as:
- The nature of contractual obligations. It is the law of obligations.
- Freedom of contract. It is the freedom of individuals and groups, such as corporations, to form contracts.
- Limitation of actions. There are government restrictions, legal limitations.
- Privity of contract. Regulates the relationship between the contracting parties and the content of the contract.
- Termination of contract. The end of the contract and the reasons for cancellation.
- Agency relationships. Agency law is the relationship between a person, the agent, that acts on behalf of another person, company, or government, usually called the master or principal. An agency relationship is generated by the consent of both, the agent and the principal.
- Commercial paper. It is written instrument or document such as a check, draft, promissory note, or a certificate of deposit, that is ordinarily used in business transactions.
- Contracts of employment. Regulating labor activity between an employee and the contractor.
